MELKBOOMSDRIFT GUESTHOUSE is situated in the heart of the Olifants River valley, between Vredendal and Lutzville, this working wine farm with a restored farmhouse, circa 1820, is an ideal stop-over between Cape Town and Namibia on the N7, with the West Coast 20 minutes away for whale spotting.

The Guesthouse is located on the fertile banks of the Olifants River, on the famous South African West Coast. This gem of South Africa's West Coast, has everything and more to offer the battle-weary businessman or adventurous tourist.

The Main House
The historic building (c1820) which houses the beautifully restored suites, achieved monument status in 1992 when Hilsa lovingly began the laborious task of restoration on the then run down and dilapidated building.
Today the Guesthouse proudly boasts seven fully serviced double en-suite rooms and four self-catering units for those who prefer it. A brand new luxury addition to Melkboomsdrift's accommodation comes online in July 2010.
There are a total of 7 en-suite garden suites and 2 self-catering suites, each with a unique name, to choose from. The units are able to accommodate from 2 to 7 people.

Rooms and RatesThere is little to prepare you for the sheer chic and panache of this stylish establishment. Each suite has been lovingly restored and decorated in a uniquely distinctive style. No one room looks like any other. From rich earthy ambers to the coolest jades and greens, some furnished with pieces which were meticulously handmade by owner, Hilsa Van Heerden, and others, with beautiful period furniture, restored to their original beauty.
